Herbert Edward Rawson (3 September 1852 – 18 October 1924) was an English footballer who played once (as a forward) for England, and appeared in two FA Cup finals, winning the cup in 1875 as a member of the Royal Engineers. ==Career== Rawson was born in Port Louis, Mauritius and, like his younger brother William, was educated at Westminster School in London. He represented the school at football between 1869 and 1871, becoming captain in his final year. After leaving school he joined the Royal Engineers and was a member of the side who reached the 1874 FA Cup Final, losing 2-0 to Oxford University. Although John Charles Clegg played in the (first match ) and his brother William Clegg was in the (second ), they did not play together. William Rawson and Herbert Rawson played together in (match 4 ). The history of the Wanderers says that Hubert Heron and his brother Francis Heron (or Frank) were the first brothers to play together but that was not until (match 5 in 1876 ).〕 The match ended in a 2-2 draw.〔(International debut for England ) v.
